In an emergency

During office hours. Our office in Malton is open 8.30 am to 5.00 pm the team will deal with any enquiry and be able to get hold of any of the vets for you, if they are already answering calls you should get an automated service, if you need us urgently there are options available to you so please listen to them.

Out of office hours you will get an automated message, if you press 1 you will be automatically diverted to the vet on call. If they can answer they will but they may be dealing with a patient or out of mobile signal so please do leave a message with your telephone number so they can call you back as soon as they are available.

We understand that you may be in urgent need of a vet to attend your horse so there is another option after you have left a message. Our vets carry radio pagers which are operated by a company which deal with the emergency services including the fire brigade. Their number is in the answer message but we suggest you write it down or put it in your phone, in case you need it. The pager number is: 01209 823754. A human being will answer your call and will get the basic information from you, but they will not know you, nor will they necessarily understand about horses. Give them the essential details and they will endeavour to contact the vet on call for you using amongst other means the radio pager. They will try many options and if they are not successful in getting the duty vet quickly they will try one of their colleagues. If you are in any doubt, please do repeat the whole process as no system is infallible.
